The Universe, William Blake

The Sky is an immortal Tent built by the Sons of Los

And every Space that Man views around his dwelling-place:

Standing on his own roof, or in his garden on a mount

Of twenty-five cubits in height, such space is his Universe;

And on its verge the Sun rises & sets. the Clouds bow

To meet the flat Earth & the Sea in such ordered Space:

The Starry heavens reach no further but here bend and set

On all sides & the two Poles turn on their valves of gold:

And if he moves his dwelling-place, his heavens also move

Wher’eer he goes & all his neighbourhood bewail his loss:

Such are the Spaces called Earth & such are its dimensions:

As to that false appearance which appears to the reasoner

As of a Globe rolling thro Voidness, it is a delusion of Ulro

The Microscope knows not of this nor the Telescope. they alter

The ratio of the Spectators Organs but leave Objects untouchd

For every space larger than a red Globule of Mans blood.

Is visionary: and is created by the Hammer of Los

And every Space smaller than a Globule of Mans blood. opens

Into Eternity of which this vegetable Earth is but a shadow(29;4-22)

William Blake from the Book David V. Erdmann, Original page 29 Lines 4-22.

On DeviantArt I came across the Art of Dmitri Arbacauskas who can be found as the user Winneganfake especially a pictures of a very occultistic Version of the Tree of Life cought my interest. Browsing his page at DeviantArt, I also found pictures of a Card pack which I liked a lot. A short note to him and I found his Web page Tormented Artifacts where I could order the really cool Pack of Cards called “The Windrow-Ravenswood Deck

Ixaxaar, The Red King by Mark Alan Smith

Ixaxaar, The Red King by Mark Alan Smith

I found this publisher very recently. A book published by them was available over Weiser Antiquarian and I got interested. So I googled the Ixaxaar Homepage and ordered two books of a Series. The ordering process was easy and I could pay via paypal which I really like to do. It took 2 days for Ixaxaar to react to my Order, but they reacted by a short note stating that the Books are on their way to me. Cool, that was easy.

Queen of Hell and The Red King by Mark Alan Smith arrived two weeks after I ordered. Both books are (obviousely) on the dark left hand path, just like Ixaxaar seems to be in general. The Books emit a distinct grimoire feeling, which is very nice for a “standart edition”. As stated on the Ixaxaar Homepage the standart edition has the following, perfectly met features:

Free Tibet

•March 10, 2011 • 5 Comments

I traveled Nepal and Tibet a couple of years ago. The Tibetans are very nice and especially peaceful people. I found their way of living interesting and would love to visit this region of earth again!

Free Tibet

So, I join this cause and want the Tibetans to be a free people!

If you are pursuing, take a look at the Bön Religion, maybe start with this Book which I enjoy quite a bit:

The Ifá oracle, polarity and binary Divination systems

•March 9, 2011 • 3 Comments

Obviousely I am interested in Magick. Magick is a really great subject to educate yourself. It is amazing how may topics you will cover over the years while pursuing magick. Recently I had a nice HooHah* when I got interested in binary divination systems.

The oldes known Ifá Oracle Board

The oldes known Ifá Oracle Board (older than 1659)

The above shown Ifá Board originates in the Yoruba Religion (today the area in Question is around Benin) and is linked to a central aspect of this Religion. Better known to most western occultists will be the New World offsprings of this Religion, Hoodoo, Voodoo, Santeria, Cadomble where the Ifá Oracle also holds a strong position. Interesting enough, the so called Ilm al Raml (Science of Sand) or Khatt al Raml (Lines in Sand) (Arabian sources), better known under the modern name “Geomancy” is quite similar.  Even better known but with greater difference,  is the I-Ging from China. All these Divination Systems are rooted in a “binary” System.

Masonic Art by Gerd Scherm

I enjoy Art and especially original Art as part of my Lifestyle. Over the years I realised that some artwork I own holds a special, magical place in my heart. Those pieces are already with me for a long while or they where given to me by special people, at special events, I found them in a special way or they just “talk” to me. Mass produced posters somehow seldom managed to reach this position in my life.

Since Freemasonry and Magick are on the List of my research topics, I enjoy pictures with symbolism coming from that current. Unfortuantely most (or at least a lot of) artists who dabble into those two currents seem to fall into stereotypical icongraphy and (apart from a nice art scene around Tarot Decks) I seldom find affordable original Art in this field.

Here now I wanted to show some nice Art from the Artist, Poet and Writer Gerd Scherm who produced in both sectors interesting artwork.

Webpage found: Boltcutterdesign

When I was giving the World of Tarot another visit, hunting for another Tarot Deck I might like, I came across these three really beautiful Decks at Boltcutterdesign:

Teh Dark Deck

Oblivions Dark Deck

The Light Deck

Oblivions Light Deck

Magna Veritas

Oblivions Magna Veritas

I find all three Decks very cool, but unfortunately only the “Magna Veritas” Seems to be still available. I am now trying to get that Deck!

But also, while on this interesting page, I found their new Blog: The Eeagles Nest which is very entertaining!

Oh yes, I am not all too much into Divination as a Lifestyle, but I really like Symbolism in Art. Tarot Cards are really nice Art which looks great if framed nicely. It is very surprising how often you will be asked about “the pictures on your Walls”. So if you have negative presentiments towards Tarot as Part of divinations, take a step back, clear your senses and take them as Art.

Cool Publishers: Teitan Press. Inc.

The Teitan PressThe next publisher I want to mention here in my Blog is Teitan Press. Inc. Most who are really interested in the Occult and in Magic(k) stumble upon Mr. Aleister Crowley sooner or later (Alias: The Beast, Frater Perdurabo, To Mega Therion, Laird of Boleskine and whatnot). Some of the most uncommon Books of this Gentleman appeared with Teitan Press. Titles like “The Scented Garden of Abdullah the Satirist of Shiraz” or “Scrutinies of Simon Iff” are not on the usual shopping list of the black dressed graveyard loving teenage Crowley Fans.

So, Teitan has specialized in books by and relating to Aleister Crowley, and to scholarly works on the occult. Since I am more of the scholarly type, this is my thing.

Cool Publishers: Avalonia Books

Avalonia BooksRecently the publisher Avalonia Books came to my attention. I really like the books by Jan Fries which used to be published by Mandrake Books, so I was taken by surprise when his latest Book suddenly appeared with a publisher that was formerly unknown to me. But since the books by Jan Fries are always very good in a lot of respects, I immediately ordered a hardback copy of “Kali Kaula“, a book on Tantric Magick and the goddess Kali of India.
